Mardi Gras Mickey Style....

I never really learned how to sew.  My Mom taught me a little.  Very little.  I can at least thread the machine, thread the bobbin, wind the bobbin, and sew a straight stitch.  I can hem a pair of pants if absolutely necessary.  I wish I could understand a pattern because I probably could actually make a thing or two.  I have a storage bin of fabric waiting to be put to use.

Mostly the sewing machine sits in the corner of our bedroom taking up space.  Every so often though I find the urge to attempt to be creative and sometimes I even surprise myself.

For example:

It really was not hard at all to turn a paper pattern like this...

into this....

and adhere it i a shirt like this....

and add a bit of (crooked) stitching like this.... tadaa!

A seamstress I am not!!!  The shirts were $3.99 on clearance at Children's Place.  Fabric was free....  the adhesive was left over from a similar project a few years ago.  All in all, it took about an hour from start to finish.

SO my question to you is:  WHERE ARE WE GOING??  And WHEN??  If you guess correctly, you can hide in my suitcase.  :-)
